With recent addition of the Makita BL1850 and Bosch 18v 5.0Ah battery we knew we wouldn’t be waiting long for the Dewalt 5 amp battery to arrive.

The great thing with this battery is that it will fit any existing Dewalt 18v Li-Ion tools. Also, Dewalt have worked hard to make sure that an extra amp doesn’t mean extra weight. The 5.0Ah battery weighs almost identical to the 4.0ah battery.

So far this year, Bosch has been on full power with the launch of their 5.0Ah battery and the introduction of ERC, Electronic Rotation Control on their Robust series range of cordless tools. It doesn’t look like they are set to slow down any time soon.

Last month we attended the Bosch Cordless Summit 2014 where we saw the latest Bosch innovation – the 18v wireless battery charger – the first wireless battery charge in the tool market. This will allow you to simply put your drill down on the charging plate in between uses, without removing the battery and the battery will get charged.

We have all experienced kick back from our drill when it doesn’t quite have the power to drill through your required material or your drill bit gets caught on something like an unseen screw.

Drill kickback may just cause you some frustration but when the tool rotates hard and unexpectedly it can cause much worse issues including broken wrists or arms or even throw you from a ladder.

Bosch have now added the 5.0ah Coolpack battery to their 18v range of blue power tools.

Recent times have seen brands introduce their 4.0Ah batteries to the market, Bosch have taken one step ahead with their GBA 18v 5.0Ah Li-ion battery. Stock will be landing any day now! It will provide up to 25% longer run time than the 4.0Ah without increase the size or weight of the battery.

Saniflo have launched their new range of macerators which have been designed for new installations in domestic and light commercial applications.

The internal workings of the new units function in the same way as the current Saniflo domestic range.

In total there are four new units.
• Saniaccess 1 – this takes waste from a WC, this is the equivalent of a Saniflo
• Saniaccess 2 – this takes waste from a WC & basin, this is the equivalent of a Sanitop.
• Saniaccess 3 – this takes waste from a WC, basin, shower & bidet, this is the equivalent of a Sanislim, Sanipro or Saniplus
• Saniaccess Pump – this takes waste from a basin, bidet, shower, bath, dishwasher & washing machine, this is the equivalent of a Sanivite.

Dewalt have redesigned versatility with the DCS355 brushless oscillating multi tool and the DWE315 corded multi cutter.

The Dewalt DCS355M2 18v XR multi tool is the first cordless multi tool from Dewalt. It is compatible with the DCB183 2.0Ah and DCB182 4.0Ah Dewalt batteries. When a battery is attached it makes the tool well balanced when placed on its end.

The Dewalt Air-lock quick fit dust extraction kit can be used in conjunction with the DCS355 and will reduce clear up time.

With so many different tool storage options on the market, it can be difficult to decide on which one to go for. Once you have narrowed it down to tool box or bag there is still many options to sift through.
